Abington Park Bowling Green
This involved stripping and re-tiling the existing Victorian roof and rebuilding of grade II listed Victorian turret. The turret was dismantled and rebuilt to exactly the same specification and design. Existing tiles were reused where possible after removal and cleaning but, if necessary, were replaced using reclaimed tiles to match existing colour and type.
The project required the renewal of structural roof timbers, a flat roof and refurbishment of a Victorian cast iron roof light as well as rebuilding of stone parapets. All work was carried out through Oakleaf’s partnering agreement with Mears and Northampton Borough Council.
"If only all contractors made life this easy! Oakleaf really pulls out the stops to ensure that its systems integrate with ours, providing everything from health and safety documents to invoices in formats that dovetail easily with ours."
Brian Whittingslow, Project Manager

“This project consisted of total refurbishment of an existing Victorian hipped roof incorporating some internal decoration to complete the 1st phase of this publicly sensitive site. In particular, our rebuilding of the Victorian turret had the most satisfactory outcome given the complex and highly sensitive procedure – each detail was matched exactly and resulted in it being excellently restored to its former Victorian glory and craftsmanship”
