Abington Park
Public Conveniences

This was a total refurbishment project including the removal of existing sanitary ware, installation of new pushbutton flushing Wallgate sanitary ware and incorporating a new designated disabled toilet cubicle.

Block-work partitioning was rebuilt as required and a new flat roof installed incorporating a domed double-skinned rooflight. Full internal decoration was undertaken together with plastering, tiling, plumbing, carpentry and external cleaning of brickwork (removal of graffiti etc). This work was carried out through Oakleaf’s partnering agreement with Mears and Northampton Borough Council.

“This was a very sensitive refurbishment project and one which held the attention of the public. This refurbishment has transformed these toilets into a modern user-friendly convenience incorporating a new disabled unit. A difficult project, however, we are proud to be associated with this restoration."
